Stone in your ears
It seems so normal, a set of stone plugs in your ears. But often there is more to it than just grinding a piece of stone into the right shape! Each stone is unique and has its own pattern and color combination. It can therefore sometimes be a challenge to match two pieces of jewelry. As a result, certain pieces of jewelry are only sold in pairs and not individually. But of course the jewelry makers pay close attention to ensure that the jewelry fits together well. If you look at the stone plugs and tunnels from Diablo Organics, for example, you will see that each pair has its own unique look but still fits together well. And that's how it should be!
There are countless stone plugs and tunnels of different types of stone available in our shop. Beautiful amethyst plugs, for example. Or beautiful tiger's eye tunnels. Rock crystal plugs and agate jewelry can also be found in our shop.
In addition to the fact that all these stone piercing jewelry are of course beautiful to look at, certain medicinal properties are sometimes also attributed to different types of stone. Amethyst is said to relieve headaches and rock crystal is said to improve concentration. We cannot confirm whether this is true or not, but in any case you will have a beautiful set of unique piercing jewelry in your ears!
Real or fake?
Some types of stone are so valuable and special that they are almost priceless. Turquoise is a perfect example of this. This type of stone is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain because less of this stone can be mined. In principle, the purest and brightest colored stones are also the most expensive. Nice if you are looking for a timeless heirloom, less nice if you regularly want to buy a new set of plugs. That is why some types of stone are colored with bright pigments. Howlite is perfect for this. This stone is easily available and can be transformed into a beautiful turquoise color. Lapis Lazuli is also a type of stone that is often imitated to make affordable Lapis jewelry. If you look closely, you will definitely be able to see the differences with the real deal, but of course it still produces a beautiful set of jewelry that also remains affordable.
There are also certain 'stone' types that are not actually a real stone at all, but a type of glass. Blue and red goldstone are examples of this, but the most popular is undoubtedly opalite. Opalite is a beautiful type of glass with a milky color and blue opal sheen that can often be found among stone jewelry. Not a stone, but very beautiful!
Maintaining your plugs and tunnels
It is not really difficult to maintain your stone plugs and tunnels. Just wipe them clean with a cloth and that is usually enough. You can moisten the cloth a little with a little mild soap, but most types of stone will stay beautiful longer if you keep them dry. Because some types of stone are porous or have small, natural cracks, too much water can eventually damage them.
